Written on the back of the canvas is "A. M. Willard Dec. 1875"
Glued on the streacher is a label from " Exeter Art Gallery, 247 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, Massachusetts" with this information Artist- Archabold M. Willard, Title- Self Portrait, Medium- Oil, Owner- Mr. & Mrs. Philip Juvelis.
