| Abstract |
This is VCR tape recording of a series of interviews with various people on the occasion of the bicentennial (4 July 1976).
The start is a number of pictures depicting the history of the United States from the Revolutionary war until the present time.
It continues with an introduction by Norm Nathan, a local radio person and next shows a dance by the Young Dance Company in Market Square. This is followed by interviews if some local people at the town landing at State street and more interviews with the bicentennial committee at Fort Sewall. From there it showed Fort Sewall, The Powder House, Gun House and the grave stones on Burial Hill.
The Marblehead Little Theater gave a historical Tableau about who should write the Declaration of Independence and what should be the symbol of the new country. Next there was and talk by Virginia Gamage about the Spirit of "76 And it finished with a talk by Nacissa Chamberlin about how people lived 200 years ago while showing her home on Tucker Street. |
