The newspaper of the USS Marblehead. Dated November 11, 1939, Underway The Cover has a drawing of a memorial to the Unknown Soldier with the inscription "Here Rest In Honored Glory An American Soldier Known But To God" Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) congratulations to Ens. Bennett C. Oelheim on his promotion to Lt. (jg). It also had an poem by V. C. Deffenbaugh titled "Armistice Day" and thanks to the crew for all the contributions to the newspaper in the past week. Page 2) This page contains the story of the Armistice that ended WWI. It also had a short joke and the origin of the word "Cruiser" Page 3) This page has two articles on the ship's softball teams and a poem about Davao their previous port. This page was printed upside down. Page 4) This page contains the ship's previous week's schedule written in misspelled words. It also had an half page of gossip. Page 5) This is a four panel about some one painting a gear shift on a whale boat like a barber pole. Page 6) This is a four panel cartoon about sailors with cap guns.
