| Abstract |
A booklet by Ruth Strachan titled "Walking Around Downtown " "An architectural guide and walking tour of 17th, 18th and 19th century Marblehead." It contains sections on the early period up to 1700, with drawings and discriptions of the living conditions and features of the buildings. The georgian Period from 1700 to 1790 features several houses on Orne and Washington Streets, Glover and Washington Squares with the features of the houses. There is a section on the Federal Period from 1795 to 1830 and anothe section on the 19th century with represenitive houses. The second half of the paper is a walking tour of the old part of the town discribing the features of selected houses. On the back page is a map of the walking tour.
