Abstract	This is a paper researching the ownership and development of a tract of land off of Atlantic Ave., in Marblehead. In 1871 Atlantic Ave. was opened and allowed access to farm land along the Southeast coast of Marblehead from the Swampscott town line to the causeway to the Neck. One of the pieces of land was eight acres purchase by William B. Stearns and William L. Stearns. The two Stearnses parceled this into about 15 lots which were sold and houses were built on some of them. This paper details the history of these lots from 1873 to 2005. The paper contains old photos of some of the earliest houses, modern color photos of the current (2005) houses and maps of the lot layouts.
