| Abstract |
A letter from Louis J. Gulliver, Commanding Officer of the USS Constitution, dated 5 August, 1931 and addressed to Mr. Richard Tutt, Clerk, board of Selectmen, Marblehead Massachusetts. The letter is in reply to a letter from the Selectmen expressing thanks to the ship and crew for the visit to Marblehead for which he thanks them for their "generous thoughtfulness." In the second paragraph Commander Gulliver gives his thanks for " the equally splendid demonstration of patriotic enthusiasm on the ship's departure" and "their cheering goodby given so far at sea." |
