| Abstract |
Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey
Historical Importance: Next to 7 Beacon Street was the Roads House which was torn down in 1967 for a parking lot. Half of the Swett House was also torn down. The Hooper, Stanley, Smith House #32 is over 200 years old. The Wood's House is the second house built on that lot. It is a reproduction that was built in 1950. The Moll Pitcher House #42 was built in 1650. Seven Beacon Street is a good example of a Colonial-Saltbox, which is next to the Little Harbor and Barnegats Seafood. Problems in researching this house: John LeFavour and John LeFavour Jr. once owned land and houses including 7 Beacon St. It is hard to tell which LeFavour owned the house in Dec, 1853. In the deeds it doesn't state which LeFavour (Jr. or Sr.) owned the house. |
