Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey
Historical Importance: Franklin Street leads to the harbor and the Swett or White House is one of the oldest houses in Marblehead. Joseph Swett, Jr. was a merchant and shoemaker. John White was a sea captain. During the War of 1812, Phillip White's son climbed through the skylight to the roof and watched the battle in the harbor. Martha Swett married Jeremiah Lee in 1845. |
