It was one of the first houses built in Marblehead. When it was built (around 1700) it was a tavern. The first two owners of the house had the first two graves in Burial Hill. Sidelights: Musket shot was embedded in the barn. Attic was used as a church for the Catholics. Secret stairway going to the attic. British officers from the boat "Lively" started a fight in the Tavern.
