Abstract Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey

The Old Lindsey House, located at 38 High Street, was built around 1740 and is similar to many other homes in the area. Although not built by a Lindsey, the Lindsey family lived there for almost 200 years. The most prominent member of the Lindsey family was Nathanial Lindsey, a merchant ship captain of the revolutionary period. His son, Joseph Lindsey, was Captain of the ship Ticonderoga which fought at the battle of Plattsburg on Lake Champlain.
