Abstract Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey

The First Congregational Church of Marblehead was a meetinghouse used for worship and town meetings. At first it was Old Burial Hill in 1648. It moved to Franklin Street in 1695. It was put on 41 Washington Street in 1824 where it is still located today. There are many different stories about the church. They concern the Church's Sacramental Silver, William Reed, who bought the land for the Church, and about the copper codfish weathervane.
