Abstract	Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey This home on 183 Washington Street is one of many built before the Revolution. It is located in the town's most famous historic district, across from Abbot Hall. The Hoopers were a family famous for their seamanship and their trading in the Far East. They were the first family to own the house to the right of 183. (that house was built in 1760). The house on the left of 183 was built for William Lee in 1745. Lee was a colonel in the Revolutionary War and he fought at Lexington and Concord. The house on the right of 183 first belonged to the Hoopers.
