Record 3375/5355 Catalog Record Archives Exhibit Page Home Search Description  Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey The builders and/or architects of this lovely home were Charles Bulfinch and Samuel Lee. It has many notable features. It was the home of William Lee, Revolutionary War Hero and merchant. He established the first artillery company in Marblehead but Glover was given credit for it. The house is a replica of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. There is a poem of unknown title by Longfellow written about the two linden trees which used to stand in front of the house. The house was once the highest point in Marblehead before Abbot Hall was built. See Interesting Visitors to the Col. William R. Lee House on page 2 in the Electives Folder.
