This 6 page issue is about the Christening Program held at the Boston Navy Yard in October of 1936. The U.S. Senator, David I. Walsh, Chairman of the Senate Naval Affairs Committee, was the orator of the day at the ceremonies of the U.S.S. Mugford. Miss Madeline Orne, the great-great-great niece of Captain Mugford, was sponsor for U.S.S. Mugford and wrote the article regarding the history of the Mugford printed in the paper.
