Abstract A booklet from Sorosis Farms in Marblehead which was near the junction of Pleasant, Humphrey and Lafayette Streets.
The booklet has many photos of the farm building and the sheep, chickens, swine, dairy cows, and bulls raised on the farm.

The original purpose of the farm was to raise produce to be sold at cost to the workers at A. E. Little Co. (shoe makers.)

It also provided an "important service to New England agricultural industry. When the farms were stocked the finest blood obtainable was procured: pure Breed Guernsey and Holstein cattle, Full Blood Hampshire, Stropshire, Cheviot and Leicester Sheep, Jersey Red Duroe Swine all thoroughbred and the purest strains of Brahmas, Leghorns, Plymouth Rocks and Rhode Island Red Poultry."

Most, if not all, the farm building were made of stone.
