Abstract Copy of a 2001 Marblehead Reporter article about the clipper ship Flying Cloud and the Cressy family. The occasion for the article was the 150th anniversary of the launching of the Flying Cloud. The article describes the record setting voyage of the Flying Cloud, commanded by Capt. Josiah Cressy, and navigated by his wife, Eleanor Cressy, from New York to San Francisco in 1851. The article also describes the relationship of Marblehead resident Norman Cressy to Josiah Cressy, as well as the ultimate fate of the Flying Cloud. In addition to a copy of the article, we have a high res scan of the article.
