| Abstract |
The state legislature passed a law in 1843 requiring corporations to send a list of stock holders to the assessors of each town residing in the town together with the number of shares and the value of them. This act was titled "An Act for the more equal Assessment of Taxes" List of banks and corporations in this file dated 1 May 1848 & 1849
