This file contains a single sheet of paper, written on both sides:
Front side: A list of the Stockings of John Prince of Marblehead with the number of shares, The name of the company and the income from that investment for the year ending 30 April 1881.
The list is in three parts: 1) Boston Banks Total income $913.00 2) Salem Banks (includes Marblehead Bank) Total income $792.00 3) Other sources of income such as Railroad stock, a manufacturing Co. Railroad bonds and U.S. bonds. Total income for all three columns $2613.00 Note: The penmanship is hard to read and using a calculator we get a different total.
Under the three columns There is a note: "About 7 thousand Dollars on Deposit, no mortgages no houses or barges as (not readable) wire or furniture to be taxed.
On the reverse Is this not: Marblehead, April 30 1881 This is to certify that the foregoing is a true list of the personal property owned by me and the income from the same the past year. It is signed with an X and witnessed by William Gilly, Justice of the Peace. |
