Abstract Two copies of the magazine The Rudder. They both have articles by Frances L. Herreshoff. The first, published in May 1958, is titled An Introduction to Yachting, Part II. It is about The Era of Steam - Society and Traditions and identifies large old yachts in the pictures: the Corsair, Warrior, Iolanda, Sapphire and more. The second, published in June of 1959, is also titled An Introduction to Yachting...Part XIV, and is about The Thistle-Volunteer Races. He tells about the greatest or most important years of yachting between 1890 and 1910 (pg. 17) and about Edward Burgess, yacht designer.
Enclosed in the June Edition is a one page piece (May 1959) titled An Introduction to Yachting...Part XIII by L. Francis Herreshoff about the America's Cup Challenge of 1885.
