Record 5110/5355 Catalog Record Archives Exhibit Page Home Search Description  A 12 page booklet about Marblehead Pottery. It tells an unusual story of Dr. Herbert J. Hall, a physician in Marblehead, who started the project in 1904 as therapy for some of his patients. The techniques in glazing and decoration developed so successfully that the pottery soon became a commercial venture. A chemist, Arthur Baggs, was the work supervisor of the pottery and purchased it in 1915. The usual products were vases, bowls, teapots, candlesticks and the like. The pottery operated until 1936. In an Antique Trader website from June 2011 was a highly desirable Marblehead Pottery vase that brought a final price of $86,250.
