| Abstract |
Booklet titled "Letters from Duncan". A copy was presented to each Board member by Mr. William Sleigh in appreciation for the naming of Lt. Duncan B. Sleigh Square. Lt. Sleigh was killed in battle in Vietnam on November 6, 1968. His parents, relatives and friends gathered on the deck of Old Ironsides in Boston on July 18, 1969 as the Marine hero's parents were presented the President's award of the Navy Cross, the highest recognition of valor that can be awarded.
This booklet contains letters he wrote to his mother, father and family and also excerpts from letters received from officers and men who served with their son. |
