| Abstract |
A four page biography/history of Uriel Crocker, Marblehead native and donor of Crocker Park. He was born in 1796 and educated in Marblehead. He became a successful printer and businessman in Boston as well as director of many companies and a well-known philanthropist. Crocker donated much of the land to the Town of Marblehead in 1886 that became the Town's first public park, Crocker Park. A portrait of Crocker was donated to the Town of Marblehead by the Crocker Family in 2011. It is hanging in the Selectmen's Office in Abbot Hall. |
