Description 
This booklet is a collection of letters and other writings of men who were concerned with the origin of the American Navy. The first dated in 1813 were request for information about the ships commissioned by Gen. Washington to capture British supply ships sailing into or out of Boston in 1775. The last few pages are about the ship Captians in the Broughton family at the time of the War of 1812. On the cover is a drawing of a square rigged warship. Oppsite the title page is a drawing of the Hannah and two british ships off Capr Ann on Sept 5, 1775. Near the back is a page of portrates of three men from the Broughton family.
