Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey
The original owner, John Bartlett, was a mariner and it was a convenience for him to live near the water. He owned the house from 1691 to 1696. John Legg was the second owner from 1696 to 1701. He was a merchant in Boston. (Genealogical information about these two owners is researched on page 28.) This home (The Bartlett Place) has many old and interesting architectural features.
