George Chine owned the land (according to the Marblehead Town Records, May 1652) that this home would be located on. A William Browne sued John Doner for the estate and got it on or before 1683. Known as "Estate of William Browne." On October 1700, sons of William Browne, William Jr., Thomas and John, gave it to sister, wife of Thomas Severitt, a fisherman in Marblehead.
