| Abstract |
Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
This early residence in Marblehead was built by a well known local housewright, Isaac Mansfield. The 1700 map shows a Robert Codner owned the land on 33 Mechanic Street. There was a house on the property when he bought it from Thomas Bowen that was torn down sometime before Timothy Cummings bought it. Mechanic Street was a cow path called Cow Lane in 1700 and also called the highway leading to Brimblecomb Hill, which is now the hill on which the Gerry School presently stands.
