Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
The home at 20 Middle Street was built around 1710 by a Marblehead fisherman named Thomas Main. He died in 1763 and the house was willed to Samuel Cox, a Marblehead mariner. The house became important during the Revolutionary War and was used as a home for American soldiers.
