| Abstract |
Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
The original grant of land was to John Palmer in 1685. He built the house. This John Palmer, Sr. made a will "leaving to his grandchildren Christopher Bubier, son of my daughter Margaret and Eleanor Palmer, daughter of my son, John Palmer, parts of my new house I lately built." They were to share in partnership immediately after the decease of John Palmer, Sr. Supposedly this is the present house.
See the biographical sketch of Mr and Mrs. Samuel Chamberlain, the current owners of the Bubier Mansion (1946). They have restored their home to its original splendor. Page 22. |
