Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
The home at 17 Tucker Street was in the Picket family for 66 years and then in the Stevens family for 188 years. Stevens owned a schooner, the Abigail, and he was a very wealthy sea captain. The house was owned primarily by fishermen for 224 years. The land borders the Revolutionary Training Field. Many notable exterior and interior features of this home may be seen in the photographic documentation. (slides)
The Written House Study on page 30 is a very interesting and well written history of this lovely home. |
