Abstract Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey

The Knapp House on 11 Waldron Court was built in 1714 by James Darling, a Marblehead fisherman. One of the more interesting owners of the house, and the one it is named after, was Aaron B. Knapp, also a fisherman. He was the skipper of the schooner, "Frank". The roof was originally a pitched roof because of the lack of space but the present owners (1940) made many renovations and changed the roof to a Gambrel with a dormer on each side.
