Record 2849/3390 Catalog Record Places, Streets & Sites Exhibit Page Home Search Description  Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey The house on 206 Washington Street (known as the Cloon House) is a mixture of Colonial and Georgian style architecture. It has had many different uses throughout the years. Originally a one-family dwelling, Anis Cloon, the mother of William Cloon, used to have a store in the front of the house and sold candy and pastry. At one time the house was divided into apartments. The house is named after William Cloon who lived in the house from 1891-1896. He was a very prominent figure in Marblehead. In 1840 he became engaged in the hardware business. He worked in a small one-story building which stood at the corner of State and Washington Streets. See Written House History on page 25.
