The cover has a drawing of a Filipino Banca (lateen rigged sailboat) Page 1) Masthead , (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) Short paragraph about Lt(jg) Greenup leaving for Submarine training. A report of the weeks activities using many deliberate misspellings and mispronunciations. Notice of papers from other ship's in the ship's library. Page 2) List of men qualified in various gunnery specialities and prizes awarded. Page 3) Report of a baseball game between the Fighting First and the Sonorous Second. The First Division won over the Second Division by a score or 27 to 17. At the bottom of the page was a request for articles etc. for publication Page 4) Two stories from the past. One about inoculating natives for small pox and the other Captain Philip's "Log of the Shanghai Pilot Service," both humorous. |
