The Cover has a map of the Pacific Ocean with lines indicating the ports visited by USS Marblehead in East Asia and US West Coast.
Page 1) Notes the arrival of Lt. Seward to replace Lt. Cdr Bartlett who will take command of USS Tutuila. An article remembering the ports and other places visited. A note of the praise for the Asiatic Fleet in the Navy News Bulletin. A list of the officers soon to be leaving after a year and half in Asia.
Page 2) The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) A list of Training courses completed by members of the crew. A poem not being the junior ship in the squadron. A poem about catching the Flu.
Page 3) Article about the advantages of being a sailor and traveling to many places.
Page 4) A article titled "Cups, Belts, and Medals" It notes that USS Marblehead took the Admiral Washington cup for wrestling with Juliano, J. MM 1c won the Fleet heavy weight championship belt and medal, Saxon, C.E. GM 3c was runner up in the middleweight division, and Gerber, E. E. F3c won the fleet welter weight championship. Another paragraph told a story of a Marblehead sailor who woke up thinking he was late returning to the ship but was not late after all. The last paragraph is full of extra long words. |
