Abstract The newspaper of the USS Marblehead.
Dated December 23, 1939, Shanghai, China

The Cover is on green paper and has a drawing of Santa in a motor whaleboat with Marb. on the bow and other Christmas decorations.

The back of the cover has a cartoon by Owen a young woman has just received a wristwatch from a blushing third class petty officer with the caption "Who says they ain't no Santa Claus?"

Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) It also contains a description of a Christmas day as it was at home titled "Christmas As She Ought to Was"

Page 2) This page has the end of "Christmas As She Ought to Was."
It also contains the tribute every US Naval vessel pay as the pass the sunken remains of the USS Panay in the Yangtze River which was bombed and sunk by the Japanese on 12 December 1937. It also has a bit about the Basket Ball squad and a plug of this newspaper.

Page 3) This page contains a poem by Nemo "A Gob's Letter to Santa Claus." It further note that another poem by Nemo, "Manilla Story" from the October 14th edition was copied in two other service newspapers (without credit to Nemo.) The last item was a "Gems of Truth."
