The newspaper of the USS Marblehead. Dated August 10, 1940, Tsingtao, China The Cover has a cartoon of a man hanging between the hook on a hoist and an airplane being lifted aboard the ship. This is the National Aviation Day issue of the "LIGHT." Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) it also contains a note In Memoriam that Lt (jg) Alexander Groves a former shipmate and editor of this paper died at the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Florida where he had been transfered in 1939 for aviation training. The remaining part of this page and pages 2 through page 7 are devoted to articles on the history and theory of military aviation.
