Description B&W photo taken c. 1920 of Mrs. Harriet Foote and Miss Emma Schumacher in Mrs. Foote's rose garden at 18 Devereux Street. The garden was located at the corner of Devereux and Beach Streets, and was 2 - 3 lots long along Beach Street. Mrs. Foote was a nationally known and admired rose grower who passed away in 1951. Miss Schumacher boarded at the Foote house, according to the 1914 Naumkeag Directory.
