As the title indicated this book contains a condensed version of the deck log of the USS Mugford (DD389) from the launching in 1936 until it was used as a target at Bikini Atoll in 1946 and was sunk in 1948. It also contains articles by various people as to their experiences on USS Mugford at Perl Harbor on December 7, 1941 at the time of the Japanese attack and other times during WWII in the Pacific. The book also contains photos of the compilers Wees and Garmon, maps of the war in the Pacific, photo of the atomic bomb test and article about and a memorial to Admiral Arleigh A. Burke. It has a page on the short life of James Mugford and other ships named for him. |
