| Summary |
The story of a young Marblehead couple who were engaged but because the young man went to sea for a longer time than was expected the father of the woman cursed the marriage on his deathbed. Because of this curse the woman would not marry the man but they remained friends. When she was very old she realised how foolish she had been so she married him as she lay dying. |
