Description 
A B&W photo of Elm Street looking North toward the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Elm Street was originaly named Back Street as that was the back side of the principal part of the town. The Soldiers and Sailors Monument commemorating the dead from the Cilil War was errected in this square and was moved to the Memorial park next to the YMCA in 1913 which was some time after the two fires in that area in 1877 and 1888.
