According to Town Clerk's records she died less than a month later on August 22, 1931. She enclosed a donation towards the expenses of the ship's visit. Mrs. Gregory continues in her letter that she has just finished a sketch of the life of her grandfather who was a Quarter Gunner on the Constitution.
