Record 393/1139
Description
A natural rounded beach stone used as a cobble stone at Market Square before the area was paved. It was found with many others in a layer behind the Old Town House when the street was excavated to put a decorative triangle of granite stones in the paving. This was part of the project to remove the overhead wires and wooden poles and bring the area back closer to its earlier appearance.
