Abstract	Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey Historical Importance: The Franklin Street Fire Barn was important because it housed men, horses and equipment needed to save lives and property in case of fire. The house was moved from Franklin St. to it's present location. We know that the house was moved from Franklin Street to its present location on 160 Front Street but we are not sure by whom it was moved though we believe it was Bessy Adams. The Adams' not only owned the lot at 160 Front St. but they also owned the house on Fort Sewall Lane which was called the Adams House Annex and used as a restaurant. Another of their properties was a huge restaurant called the Adams House which was one of the most famous in Old Marblehead.
