Abstract Marblehead Junior High Archives Historical Building Survey

The original owner of the lot where 9 Harding Lane stands was John Hart, a tavern owner and Marblehead Selectman. Hart's house burned down and a new house was built which was bought by John Peach. Through the years, the house was mainly owned by mariners since it was right on the water. About two hundred yards away from the house is the beach where Samuel Dolliber landed, in his barrel, from Salem. He had the honor of being the first Marbleheader. Across the street is Old Burial Hill where many famous Marbleheaders are buried.
