Record 3398/5355 Catalog Record Archives Exhibit Page Home Search Description  Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey The Minot Palmer House is located in the center of Old Town Marblehead. Directly next door to it is The King Hooper Mansion, now used as headquarters for The Marblehead Arts Association. The three houses across the street were once all owned by the Clothey Family. It is interesting to note that the Silversmith Shop was a combination tackroom - shed - and sleeping quarters for the Clothey's servant. George Minot bought the land from his brother Stephen in 1728 and then George built a house that was unfinished until 1731 when he conveyed the land and building to a merchant, John Palmer and a man, John Clothey, lived in the house in approximately 1748.
