Description
Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey At one time an Ireson owned the building. This Ireson could have been related to Skipper Ireson who was a man tarred and feathered by the women of Marblehead. The street was called "The Way to Old Nick's Cove" in 1700. (Tale of Skipper Floyd Ireson on page 8 in the green Electives Folder). Thirteen Hooper Street is located in a very odd position. The bottom floor is on 13 Hooper and the next floor is located on One Tucker Street. Across the street is the Lafayette House and legend has it that the corner was cut out to allow Lafayette's coach through to an important meeting. The King Hooper mansion is located here too. See History of Our House on page 27 in the blue folder.
