| Abstract |
Marblehead Jr. High Archives Historical Building Survey
This lovely home on 4 Pond Street has many notable exterior and interior features. George Wilson was the first owner of this house - he was a fisherman. Hooper Martin was another owner and he added on to the house and moved it from Mechanic Way to 4 Pond Street in 1907. Common people lived in the house and gave it a unique Marblehead flavor. There are some errors in the documentation of house in the deeds that were researched. Also, Mr. Manning rented the house many times for years at a time because he took long voyages and that added to the confusion. See The Written History of 4 Pond Street on page 20. |
