| Abstract |
Copies of three letters.
A) A letter from the Commander in Chief, Shanghai, China dated 20 October , 1927 addressed to Captain Harry K. Cage, USN ordering him to take command of the USS Marblehead when it arrives in Kobe, Japan on or about 27 October, 1927.
B) A letter from the Board of Selectmen of Marblehead dated June 25, 1984 and addressed to Mr. Malcolm M.Hubbard (a nephew of Capt. Cage) and telling him that they have accepted his offer of the gift of the Homeward Bound pennant from the USS Marblehead. They also thank him for it and designate Dr. Ray Cole, Jr. and Mr. Bowden Osborne to receive it for the town.
C) A letter from Malcolm M. Hubbard of Newton, Massachusetts dated 9 July, 1984 addressed to Dr. Ray Cole, Jr. thanking him for a phone call and saying he would send the pennant direct to Marblehead. He also mentions Capt. Cage's sword and offers to give it to the town. |
