The Cover is on green paper and has a drawing of four men singing, three of them are US sailors and one is a Chinese mess boy. They are singing about being away from home.
The back of the cover is a cartoon about a sailor dancing barefoot.
Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) It also that Lt (jg) Powell has been detached after 65 month aboard. He was relieved by Lt (jg) Mackenzie. Ens. R. E. Fahnestock reported aboard. The last item was a list of the food and beverages served at the recent party. This was continued on page 2.
Page 2) This page contains a report of a handball meet, two basketball games and a visit to the Warrant Officers Mess by Carroll D. Alcott , a radio and newspaper reporter.
Page 3) This page contains the New Years Deck Log in rhyme as tradition demands. It was written by Lt (jg) K. B. Smith. The page ends with a short poem.
Page 4) This page is full of ship's gossip.
