Description 
The newspaper of the USS Marblehead. Dated April 20, 1940, location not noted, probably Manila P.I. The Cover is on green paper and has a drawing of a bride and groom in Naval uniform presumably Lt (jg) B. C. Oelheim and his bride the former Miss Valerie Pickel as noted in the April 13th edition. Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) it also contains reports of the April 7th baseball game with the Pillsbury and the April 14th game with the Pasumil. The Marblehead won the first and lost the second. There is also an announcement that Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are now part of the Tenth Naval District. Page 2) This page contains a welcome to LCDR Smellow and Dr. Boone new members of the officers on the ship and the leaving of Lt (jg) W.W. Lippold a dental officer. At the bottom of the page there is an article about why there are no Battle Cruisers in the US Navy such as HMS Hood. Page 3) This page contains an itemAbout the use of paper in WWI a "Did You Know" about the Portugese Navy and a floating drydock being mover from New Oleans to Pearl Harbor. Page 4) This page contains the ship's gossip and the pland launching of the battleship USS North Carolina and the laying of the keel of the USS Iowa.
