The newspaper of the USS Marblehead. Dated February 17, 1940, Olongapo P. I. The Cover is on green paper and has a drawing of a a woman sitting on a couch with the caption "Remember the girl you left behind" drawn by Cook. Page 1)This page contains The Masthead, (a newspaper term for info on the publisher, editors etc.) and contains a page of the names of men who were advanced in rate as of 16 February 1940. (note: the collector of these newspapers, D. W. Erpelding was advanced to Sea1c) Page 2) This page contains a article about the use of profanity aboard ship and a note from the Ship's Store Officer that stale tobacco products from Liggett-Meyers has been exchanged for fresh items and many brands of candy were available and other items may be obtained if requested. Page 3) This page contains the end of the previous note from the Ship's Store Officer and a description of various wood grown in the Philippines. Page 4) This page has a note from the chaplain of the USS Augusta about a series of sermons planed for Lent. There is also an article about the many churches in Manila
